The music fades out just before the time's-up sound, so the alarm is always heard. Turn this off to keep music playing on its own.

Put this timer in Google Slides

Download a video of this countdown. It plays right on your slide, and can start by itself when you get to that slide.

  1. Click Download video.
  2. Upload the file to your Google Drive.
  3. In Google Slides, choose Insert → Video → Google Drive and pick the file.
  4. Click the video, open Format options → Video playback, and choose Play (automatically). The timer starts when you reach that slide.

10 minute timer

This 10 minute timer is ready to go – press Start (or the space bar) and a big countdown fills your screen. Students can read it from the back of the room, the controls hide while it runs, and a sound plays when time is up.

Need a little longer or shorter? Use +1 min, +30s or the arrow keys – you can change the time while it's running.

Questions

How do I start the 10 minute timer?
It's already set to 10:00. Press Start or the space bar. Press F or Full screen to fill the whole screen.
Can I show it on my smart board or projector?
Yes. Open this page on the classroom computer and press Full screen. The numbers resize to fill the display, and the screen won't go to sleep while the timer runs.
Can I pick a different look or sound?
Yes – press Themes to choose from 24 themes (space, dinosaurs, sports, holidays and more) and a time's-up sound, or turn the sound off.
